news....
Hansi was interviewed by a Spanish magazine and told some details about the upcoming album. Here they go:
- There are already ten tracks composed. They are aiming to have 3 to 4 more.
- All basic Blind Guardian elements will be found in the album (choirs, melody, fast guitars, solos, Queen-like elements), everything people can expect from them. But at the same time there will be new explored grounds that will surprise people.
- It will be co-produced with Charlie Bauerfeind.
- Recording will begin in the beginning of July.
- In mid June they will decide upon who will be recording drums on next album. The drummer that records the album can actually be not exactly the one that will end up being the definitive drummer (maybe they will simply hire somone while they continue their research). The final decision will be probably made once the album is done. (more about the drummer below.
- The album won´t be as complex as ANATO.
- Mixing by mid Octuber aprox.
- Recordings should end by november/december.
- Oliver will play the bass once again.
- Some songs will be Queen-like, some will be modern-like. Some will be BG-like, some Savatage-like. They will be quite different from each other.
- There´re no lyrics at the moment.
- Another Stranger Me (working title) ANATO-like
- Market Square (working title). More old-BG-like, but more futuristic (I guess he reffers to the ambient), speed metal-like.
-Carry The Blessed Home (working title). Somewhat a mix between BG´s The Hobbit, Queen and Ozzy Osbourne ( )
- The drummer with most chances to get the job is already friend to BG.
- There´re five possible choice at the moment, with equal musicianship quality.
- The drummer they want must have something new to offer, and at the same time give everything Thomen could give. That is, a perfect mix between power and technique. He states how dificult is this to fins, and why Thomen is so special.
- The drummer they have in mind is in other bands, so if finally he is the chosen, he might end up recording just this next album and not joining the band.
- They changed label because Virging was slowling turning backs to them.
More or less, this is a good resume of the most important things. Also I want to say that there´s a talk about Thomen´s departure. Since it follows the line we have seen all this time, I think there´s not a need to point this out again. They are glad they went separate ways, both BG and Thomen as well.
